We conduct research on various aspects of plant disease to improve plant health and crop systems productivity.
Our faculty, staff and students' research aims to improve plant health and the safety and productivity of crop systems by investigating the molecular, cellular, organismal, ecological and applied aspects of plant disease. They explore ways to manage bacterial, fungal, nematode and viral diseases, and the ways they are spread, especially in the desert Southwest. The research also extends more broadly to plant-microorganism interactions across diverse crop and wild systems
