We investigate microbial communities in natural and agricultural ecosystems and their impacts on health.
Our faculty, staff and students are engaged in an array of microbial research, including genetics, genomics, systematics, taxonomy and the ecology of fungi, bacteria and viruses. They strongly emphasize research on microbial community structure in natural and agricultural ecosystems, focusing on how microbes can affect plant, human and environmental health.
