BIO5 harnesses five disciplines across the UA campus (Basic Science, Agriculture, Medicine, Pharmacy, and Engineering) to find solutions to complex, biology-based challenges affecting humanity today: How do we prevent, treat and cure disease? How do we create more resilient crops, nutritious foods, and new sources of fuel? How do we address the many environmental problems we now face? Scientists from these five disciplines are capitalizing on breakthroughs in the life sciences to improve the quality of life for all of us. Many Plant Science faculty are also members of BIO5.
